FAITH: A CHAMPION FOR BLACK YOUTH EMPOWERMENT

Faith Ashogbon, a dedicated Youth Wellness Coach and founder of the Pure Gold Foundation, has made it her mission to empower Black youth and newcomer families in New Brunswick. With a strong educational background in Curriculum Development, Human Resources Management, and Educational Leadership, Ashogbon has created a transformative program that fosters resilience, positive values, and a growth mindset in young people.

Ashogbon’s journey began when she immigrated to Moncton from Lagos, Nigeria, in 2017. She recognized the challenges her children faced as young Black newcomers, struggling to fit into school and questioning their identity. Determined to help, Ashogbon devised a way to build their self-confidence and help them thrive independently in Canada.

Pure Gold Foundation, launched in 2020, offers a range of activities, including group coaching, individual coaching sessions, summer camps,Events, workshops, and conferences, all designed to boost self-confidence and promote positive change. Ashogbon’s program has already made a significant impact, with numerous families benefiting from her support system.

Ashogbon’s educational background from the Canadian College of Educators, NBCC (New Brunswick Community College), and University of Lagos keeps her journey, rooted in resilience, and become a powerful force for positive change in the lives of countless Black youth.

As the founder of the Pure Gold Foundation, Ashogbon is committed to empowering young minds with positive values and a growth mindset, earning her the respect of her community. She recognized the challenges young immigrants face in a new country and decided to help. Ashogbon offers transformative programs for youth that are both fun and educational, aiming to give a voice to underrepresented immigrant children.

Ashogbon’s dedication has earned her the respect of her community and the Visionary Impact Award from The Mall Magazine. This award recognizes her visionary leadership and profound impact on the lives of Black youth, celebrating her as an inspirational catalyst for positive change. The award celebrates her commitment to fostering resilience, empowering young minds, and promoting a growth mindset within her community, inspiring others through her dedication and spirit.

Through her work, Ashogbon aims to give a voice to underrepresented immigrant children, helping them discover their true identity and build a sense of belonging in their new community. Her story is a testament to the power of resilience and dedication, inspiring others to make a difference in the lives of young people.
