My name is Ruyakat Olaniyi, I am a fashion designer.
I moved to Canada 2018. Fashion has always inspired me as I am able to express myself through my designs, while positively impacting people of all colors, race and religion.
I started my business in 2018 right after settling into my new home with the aim of making clothes targeted for Africans; but got inspired along the way as people from other cultures embraced this innovation and were willing to try out my designs.
This inspiration gave me the innovation to start up training classes and teaching people on how to draft patterns and sew all types of fabrics.
Challenges faced as a fashion designer: Securing funds to expand within Canada to meet the high demand.
